Island Hopping per PumpbootThe trip begins after arrangement after the breakfast about 8.00 o'clock a.m. Then a second breakfast can be sereved about 9.30 o'clock a.m. on HIMOKILAN island. Beside diving, snorkeling, bathing and sunbathing at the protected beach the exploring of the island ranks as one of the highlights.
From here it will take only 1 kilometer to the neighbouring island MAHABA. It is many more thinly settled than HIMOKILAN island. At the beach lunch can be taken. Here as well you are not disturbed in your peace by the inhabitants. The religion and education forbids the importunate contact to foreign visitors. The way leads approx. 1 km to the neighbouring island APED. Here you find a multiplicity of boat building families which sell their boats afterwards on the “mainland” (the island Leyte). Our boats as well are coming from one or other family on Aped. Here also you are undisturbed by tanning in the sun, swimming and snorkeling. At last we visit DEGYO island, the smallest and perhaps most beautiful of these islands. Fine white coral sand border the beaches of this island. With only 6 hectares size by high tide it permits each visitor to walk round the island. It is inhabit by 3 with themselves related families. Crystal-clear, turquoise colored water invites for extensive bathing ; but: Caution is required. We started the island at the end, due to the solar activity is already on the retreat. Nevertheless it occurs again, that visitors get bad skin burns by the reflection of the sunlight in the water or however by the snow-white sand. A cream with a high light protection factor (30) is urgently necessary. |
